| American Museum of Asmat Art |
| The American Museum of Asmat Art is an independent, non profit museum dedicated to the study, preservation and presentation of the culture and spirit of the Asmat as embodied in their art forms. The museum's collections of approcimately 2,500 objects makes it one of the most comprehensive collections of its type in the United States, and consists of numerous utilitarian, religious and functional objects crafted from wood, bone, feathers, seeds, shells, palm and materials native to the rainforest. The museum mounts two shows a year in its galleries, and shares its resources through loans, touring exhibitions and through educational programs.
